Tak Wada — President and CEO
Tak Wada is an inventor, practicing software engineer, and futurist. His innovative, patent-pending process for hydrogen generation is the foundation for H2 Technologies’ go-to-market activities.
In the corporate world, Mr. Wada most recently served as a senior engineer tasked with opening the Search Marketing division of Yahoo! in Japan. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for business development in the East Asia market at Veritas Software, a leading provider of data center management software that is now a part of Symantec.
Mr. Wada was born in Tokyo and studied at the University of Hawaii. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from New York State University and expects to receive a certificate in program management from U.C. Berkeley in 2009. He is a practitioner of Bikram Yoga and meditation.
Guy Toyama — Chief Operating Officer
Guy Toyama has more than 15 years’ experience in advertising, marketing, and publishing. He has been active in a variety of environmentally-focused start-up companies. Along with his role as chief operating officer of H2Technologies, he serves as executive director of Friends of NELHA (Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii), a unique renewable energy educational facility built by the U.S. Department of Energy.
In 2001, Mr. Toyama led a group of investors in starting the first deep seawater desalination plant in Hawaii. Since then, he has been involved in other start-up companies, including a manufacturing company that produces salt from seawater and a Japanese language visitors’ guide to Hawaii. He currently consults with both Kona Brewing Company and Sapporo Beer.
Mr. Toyama holds a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Oregon. He is active in the community, serving on the board of directors of the Kona Kohala Chamber of Commerce, the Hawaii Food Manufacturers Association and Kanu Hawaii. He is chair of the Hawaii County Mayor’s Energy Advisory Commission.
Chooneui Ham — Chief Evangelist
An entrepreneur and futurist, Chooneui Ham has founded and led a number of successful, Tokyo-based businesses that focus on developing environmentally-sound consumer-oriented products.
Most recently, Mr. Ham founded Kogendo, or Spiritual Beauty, Japan’s largest natural skin care company. This company packages its products in biodegradable materials and has committed to the exclusive use of sustainably-derived ingredients in their manufacture. In the process of building Kogendo, he researched hemp oil and operated a licensed organic hemp farm in order to produce a pure and controlled source of this vital cosmetic ingredient. Mr. Ham also founded Geenz.jp, the first bilingual Internet media source in Japan dedicated to promoting a green economy and a sustainable society. His other business ventures include BioPio, a water filter manufacturing company, and a video game machine distributorship.
Chester Lowrey — Chief Engineer
Mr. Lowrey has extensive knowledge in the field of electronics. A and has X years of experience as an electronic engineer, he has designeding high voltage switch-mode power supplies used in surface modification.
His particular interests include researching, designing, and building innovative electronic, mechanical, and chemical systems.
Mr. Lowrey is a native of Hawaii (Big Island).
